This week- IN THE MOOD!

This Friday at the Portsmouth Guildhall, we will be transporting you back to the 1940s and getting you IN THE MOOD. This is an interactive 1940s experience night which includes performances from The Portsmouth University Big Band, The Bevin Boys and of course, The Three Belles.

It starts at 7.30pm and tickets are on sale at The Portsmouth Guildhall on 02392824355 or visit http://portsmouthguildhall.org.uk/

When you arrive you will be greeted by 1940s characters, who will tell you all the latest gossip and pull you up on the floor for a boogie. There will be 1940s themed food and cocktails on sale and a good sized dance floor for you to Lindy Hop the night away. If you want to learn how to Lindy before you get there, local dance teacher, Jason Foster will be teaching from 5-6pm in the Guildhall, for FREE! We will also be selling Matt Wingett’s book The Three Belles star in ‘We’ll Meet Again’ at a special “live show” rate.

IN THE MOOD brings the exciting release of our brand new single, ‘Belles are Swingin’. A three track EP with original 1940s style songs written by William Keel-Stocker of The Bevin Boys and arranged by The Three Belles.

Olympics Party!

The Belles are very excited about this year’s olympics as they come to London 2012! The olympics were last held in this country in 1948… in our most beloved decade. So, if you fancy reminiscing with us as well as celebrating the year to come, why not hold a 1940s themed olympics party? 2012 is the year of nostalgia and us belles know how to make you remember! So come back in time with us to the 1940s for your 1948 style olympic celebration.

Going, Going, Gone!

The Three Belles will be performing at the Wine Vaults on the 10th May in the lead up to their show, IN THE MOOD on the 18th May at The Portsmouth Guildhall. This gig is like no other for The Three Belles as they will be holding an auction of promises in the break to raise money for Help For Heroes.

Auction includes free ballroom dance lesson, a sunday with the belles and a goody bag which includes a signed copy of ‘We’ll Meet Again’ by Matt Wingett… more prizes coming soon!

Isle of Wight Festival!

Yes The Three Belles will be performing at this year’s IOW Fest!!!

We can’t quite believe it and are super excited… come find us in the Hipshaker Lounge on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June at about 3pm each day.

In The Mood in Portsmouth and Cornwall

This year we will be taking our 1940s experience night to the Portsmouth Guildhall on May 18th and on August 10th, we will be bringing it all the way to sunny Cornwall to be held at the St Ives Guildhall.

‘In The Mood’ is a brilliant night out! We have a Big Band, The Bevin Boys, solo performers and of course The Three Belles. You will also be lucky enough to meet some 1940s men and women who may ask you to dance or drink with you at the bar! There will be a dance floor at both events, so don’t forget your dancing shoes! Featuring all the great songs from Glenn Miller, The Andrews Sisters, Al Bowlly, Louis Prima… you name it!

Tickets have now gone on sale and will be selling quick, so don’t leave it too late or you may be disappointed!

Valentines Day Love from The Belles

Well it is Valentines Day… Betty’s favourite day of the year!

We will spend the day posting videos and singing to people to share some Belles love.

Sometimes Valentines day can be sad, if you cannot be with the one you love, or perhaps they don’t even know that you love them? Last year Dorothy brightened Betty’s day by bringing her a chocolate rose… just as Betty was feeling lonely, and of course Gail got one too, along with an array of cards and gifts from her favourite fellers!

This year we hope to brighten your Valentines day with some messages on our youtube channel. So please check it out if you have made a request, and if not, then have a look and see what messages, (silly and serious) people have left up there for their loved ones. Our channel is ‘thethreebelles’.

Dear belles and sound man,

You are all the valentines I could ever ask for! This weekend marked one year of being belles! And what a fantastic year it has been, performing at fireworks nights, christmas parties, summer festivals and vintage fairs… and we mustn’t forget our stint as 40s ghosts! Well done for all your hard work. You girls are troupers and grafters and you should be so proud of our achievements as a band. I hope we will always be each other valentines!! Now let’s have a carpet shredding vout-a-reenee! And get those gates smeared with cray-a cos its time to celebrate valentines belle style! See you at Heart Breakfast!
